My Big Takeaway from Mr. Beast's Interview on Diary of a CEO.

YouTube Video

Written script from the video.

Steven Bartlett recently interviewed Jimmy Donaldson, AKA Mr. Beast' on his podcast 'Diary of a CEO.'

I've never watched a Mr. Beast video on YouTube, but I recently finished season 1 of Beast Games on Amazon Prime and thoroughly enjoyed it.

In the interview, Mr. Bartlett asks Jimmy questions that make him reflect on his life. Jimmy says multiple times that he felt like an outcast in his younger years(ages 11-13) because he wanted to be a YouTuber, and nobody around him seemed to be into doing the same. He eventually met people who shared that same interest, propelling him to go even further down his path of being a successful content creator.

I did some introspection on how this applies to my life.

I'm so grateful to have dance/party friends who like the same music(dancehall reggae) and dances I do. I have known some of these people for nearly 15+ years, and they have amplified this interest for me. I often tell a few of them that some of the moments I shared with them, such as dancing the night away at certain parties, were some of the best moments of my life.

I have a movie friend, Jason G, who you have heard of on my podcast. I've been watching movies with him for over 20 years, and we've shared some great moments from the biggest movie releases throughout that time.

I am so blessed to have these relationships!

After seeing the power of these hobbies-related friendships, I want to meet more people to do the same. I'd love to have pro-wrestling friends, video game friends, friends who love action figures, friends who love to make content, and friends who love vegan cooking at home.

But with my life experience at the age of 49, how would I meet those people? Meetup groups? Facebook groups? Playing games online? Attending indie wrestling shows? Conventions? Online is OK, but nothing beats having these friends in real life.

Don't smother your interests or your weird because your tribe is out there. You and I have to do the hard work and find them.

Fantastic Four: First Steps-Out of the Theater Quick Review

Jason and I give our quick review of  Fantastic Four: First Steps.  We both gave it a  rating of 7.9/10 . We praise the movie’s stunning production design, visuals (especially Galactus and The Thing), and soundtrack. Pedro Pascal stood out as Reed Richards, and the Silver Surfer was a highlight. While the film lacked some character depth and suspense, we still considered it the best Marvel movie of the year so far — surpassing  Brave New World  and  Thunderbolts. There were  two post-credit scenes: one worthwhile, one forgettable. Here's our out of the theater review A longer podcast spoiler review is coming soon.

Weapons Movie Review-Was it better than Barbarian?

YouTube Video Weapons   by Zach Cregger was a solid horror film, especially for fans of face mutilation and suspense. While the twist didn’t fully land for me, the movie picked up after a slow start and became quite engaging. I really enjoyed the eerie electronic score during tense moments and thought the cast was strong—The characters and actors playing Gladys and Alex were standout performances. The multi-perspective storytelling around 17 missing kids added depth, and I liked how it wrapped up. Not as strong as   Barbarian , but still a very good film—I'd give it a 7.5 out of 10.
