Happy Thanksgiving Dance 2021

Happy Thanksgiving to all.  Thanks for all your support in listening to the podcast, checking out my videos, blog, social media.   It is much appreciated.   Here's a dance video celebrating yet another Thanksgiving.   Tell your family, friends, those important to you how much you appreciate them.  If this pandemic has shown us anything is another reminder of how short life truly is.   God bless and thank you once again.

Mighty Goose-Awesome Throwback Game!

This game takes me back to my childhood.   Think Metal Slug and Mega Man had a baby and you get this title.   Mighty Goose is now available on most major gaming sites and consoles.   I'm playing this on my Xbox One, it's currently on Game Pass.   Have you played Mighty Goose?   Comment down below. Here's me playing Mighty Goose.

DJ Gravy-How was the Rice and Peas Party Created?

LISTEN TO THE PODCAST HERE. Dave Susser (aka DJ Gravy) is a Reggae/Dancehall aficionado who helped bring that particular culture in the form of the Rice and Peas party into Downtown NYC nightlife in the mid-2000s. Raised in the Bronx, Gravy was exposed to many cultures and ethnicities at a young age. In addition, his mother(a linguist and teacher) introduced him and his older brother to world travel. They had a friend on an airline who hooked them up with inexpensive fare — allowing the three to travel to the U.K., India, Egypt, Greece, and more. As he became older, this combination of experiences gave Gravy the confidence to explore the melting pot, music, and various cultures around New York City. Reggae music resonated with him the most. He recalls attending concerts by iconic artists such as Buju Banton and Beenie Man. He was drawn to the atmosphere, the D.J.s, the called responses, the roar of the crowd as their favorite songs came on. That same energy with international, downtown

Halloween Kills Thoughts

Watching Halloween Kills at home on the Peacock streaming service is nice.   I subscribed because of this movie.   I wanted to watch Yellowstone as well(also on Peacock), as I've heard great things about that show. If I ever have the opportunity to watch a new release at home with an already paid subscription, I'm all for it.   I did so recently with Dune. I wouldn't pay an extra amount, however.    An example being Disney + having a  premium charge above the subscription to watch Black Widow, that I won't do. Halloween Kills was fun.   I slapped my leg several times and laughed at Micheal Myers's kills and the goofiness of the Haddonfield residents.  Yes, I'm a little sadistic.   I also yelled at the screen several times, saying, 'dismember Micheal, It's the only way to stop him!' or 'shoot him in the head or brain him or something!' Haddonfielders were happy to beat him down and stare at Micheal as he lay motionless for a bit before he gets

Sharing Our Joy of Dancehall ....Again. August 2021

I've shot videos for the past few years of myself and friends dancing at parties.   These being some of the familiar faces in those videos.   We got together on this August afternoon and had a great time at Rise Radio simply catching up(pictured here).   Later at Lover's Rock with tunes by DJ WahGwanTwon.   As of late, I haven't been great at documenting these outings and it's something I should do more.   Grateful to my friends Mami, for taking this picture and Veronika for shooting these videos.   Jason Tree-Step is the life of the party.   More wonderful times spent with fellow dancehall fans and hopefully more to come. View this post on Instagram   In mid-august Max Glazer played at the Brooklyn Public Library for a 2nd time.   Mami shot this video there.    Another wonderful time in friends.    Dancehall brings folks together.   It's a good look.   View this post on Instagram A post shared by Mami Hasegawa (@dancehal

King Kong wants to Squash the Flash-Action Figure Photography

I shot this in a nearby park in my town.    Kids walked by and giggled, another guy said 'that's cool,' and asked for my Instagram account.   I told him that's where all my action figure photography shows up. This is always so much fun.   When I get back to working full time, I hope to make time to do more of this. The Flash figure is from the recent McFarlane Toys DC lineup.   King Kong is the Lanard Mega Figure.   He's 18" tall and was released back in 2017. Most times after I've taken photos of my figures I put them up for sale in my eBay store which you can find here.

Recapping July 2021. I love the Summer.

Here is a series of pictures and videos recapping my July.   Working in hotels for the last 20 years, I learned that July seems to be the time the world takes off from work and goes on vacation.  I love July in NYC, there's no place I'd rather be.   There's always something going on.   Due to the pandemic this year, I've also had loads of time off to fully enjoy this wonderful month.    View this post on Instagram A post shared by Social Dancer-Content Creator (@paul_v_perez) I also discovered golf!   I found a golf range, only a bus ride away from my neighborhood.    View this post on Instagram A post shared by Social Dancer-Content Creator (@paul_v_perez) Finally, I'm always on the lookout for funny pics while I'm out and about.   View this post on Instagram A post shared by Social Dancer-Content Creator (@paul_v_perez) How was your July?  Please comment below.
