In the past, I would often draw an action scene.  My art inspiration comes from reading and enjoying comics.  Here, I just wanted to draw something a little different.  This drawing takes place on a movie set, and it seems that two actors are upset, with one storming off.  See the time-lapse video below from concept sketch to final product.  Please share your thoughts and comments below.  

I started this drawing earlier this year (2025) while I was out hurt from work. My local library is where it began.  The brown furniture at the library inspired the design of the office setting. Daydreaming, the buildings in the foreground came to be, and I thought about placing the X-Men's Cerebro machine in the background. In an attempt to maintain my art skills, I asked one of my co-workers if I can draw their picture.  My fellow co-worker Paula volunteered.  Thank you Paula!  As with all of my drawings, I use the Procreate app, 1st gen Apple Pencil, and an iPad Mini.  Here's a time lapse video of my artwork.

  I played and enjoyed Ghost Song on Xbox Game Pass late last year.   Metroid-Vania-style games are some of my favorites; when I was younger, I remember spending hours playing Super Metroid on the Super Nintendo and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night on the PlayStation.   A recent favorite in this genre, which I completed, was Carrion. I put hours into Ghost Song, got stuck in a few parts, was at the tail end, and then it was removed from Game Pass.   I bought this title on the Nintendo Switch, but the load times are brutal.   This drawing is me reminiscing over the time I put into this game.   Here, I'm sitting in my studio apartment in New Jersey.  Drawing on the iPad.   Using the Apple Pencil (1st gen) and an iPad Mini.  Tracing the photo is much easier than drawing things from scratch.  A great technique to use when drawing people in situations.  Take pictures! The Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde idea came to me as I got closer to the end of completing this drawing.   Mad scientist vibes were there from the start.    As always I used the Procreate app, the first gen Apple Pencil and an iPad Mini.   ArtPose Pro was used for the 3D model.   Some of the extra flares and animation I pulled off using Canva and Final Cut Pro.   I made this with the idea of posting it on Instagram Stories and Tik Tok, that's the reason for the dimensions. In my latest set of action figure pictures, I have the 'Man in Black' played by Matthew McConaughey from the 2017 Dark Tower movie, facing off against Johnny Silverhand played by Keanu Reeves from 2020's Cyberpunk 2077 game.   Johnny is accompanied by Psycho and Tiny Tina from the Borderlands series of video games.   Finally, I have  Star Trek Next Generation's Jordi Laforge as a blue alien.    Most figures are from Mcfarlane Toys, exceptions being the Man in Black(Diamond Select) and Jordi(Playmates).   The diorama is from Extreme Sets wave 2 Control Center, which is inspired by 1980s Transformers cartoons. This picture with the broken glass, comic book style, panel is my favorite!   It adds another level of excitement to the photo. I used an Apple Pencil, Ipad Mini, Canon G5X, and the Procreate app to put these together.   I also used elements and filters at Canva.com to spruce up a pic or two.    I often have these types of confrontat...

There was a snowstorm in the northeast(USA) in the final weeks of December 2020.   Why not take advantage and take some action figure photos!   Here I have Range Trooper from the Star Wars Solo movie.   He's on the hunt for the Indominus Rex from Jurassic World.   It doesn't look good for the stormtrooper.

During this quarantine/pandemic period I admit to having watched a lot of TV.   One of the series I binged and enjoyed was Hanna on Amazon Prime.   This scene in this drawing takes place in the end of the first season where Hanna is fighting off several guards in what seems to be an arena.   As always I use the Procreate app on the iPad with an Apple Pencil. Here I have Marvel Legends Tombstone and Spider Woman.   I shot these in Hoboken, NJ.   I used my hand on the tripod to position Spider Woman, then drew over it with this tentacle machine.   A trap set by Tombstone.   The photos were later sweetened up using Canva.   You can find these action figures in the affiliate links below.
