How I Use A.I. for Content Creation

By Paul Perez

Here's how AI cuts my content-creation time in half.

By using AI, I can produce more blog content more efficiently. I’ll share how it helps me with writing, proofreading, and daily life.

The main way I use AI is for transcribing. For example, when Jason G and I record a movie review, I upload the audio to Rev.com and use their AI transcription service. It's cheaper than hiring a person to do it.  What would take me days to transcribe, paying $1-$10, is done in minutes.

After recording initial audio of an idea or a podcast, this is the next step

The transcription isn't perfect, but it gets about 80-90% of what we discussed. After that, I put the text into ChatGPT and asked it to turn it into a short blog post or a podcast episode description.

Before I publish anything, I run it through Grammarly. Using its AI tools, I can significantly reduce my editing time by finding and correcting errors. Grammarly's proofreading and fact-checking features ensure my articles are polished. Their ‘Expert Review’ suggests specific improvements that help readers lean in.  Engagement is something I’m learning to do with my writing.

Another creative way I use ChatGPT is for songwriting. When I write songs, I start by thinking of a story or event in my life, no matter how big or mundane.  When I wrote this small bit below, I was home healing from a foot injury.  My world was turned upside down, as I am a very active person. Only mobile with a knee scooter during this period, I had time to think about my life, and this came to me. I initially write what’s on my mind in my notebook in a quatrain format—writing several short paragraphs.  It doesn’t rhyme or anything.
A multipurpose tool for my content creation

I feed this to ChatGPT and ask it to make it into a rap song with a singing chorus, and it delivers.  Here’s an example:
  • What I wrote:
More for me, the debt is clear.
Only worry about myself.
I give family platitudes.
I wish them well, but I'm not there to support
them financially
If they are grown adults, do I have to be
  • What ChatGPT wrote:
More for me, debt is clear, I'm out of the game, no fear
Only worry 'bout myself, keep my vision crystal clear
Family gets the platitudes, I wish 'em all well
But I’m not their lifeline; they can stand, or they can fall

An AI service like Suno can create a full song with a voice and instrumentation.  But according to what I’ve heard, they will own your output.  As of this writing, ChatGPT doesn’t do that.  Your production, or what it produces after you prompt it, is yours to own.   Suno will lease the car with restrictions, and ChatGPT will outright sell you the vehicle for you to own.

Another way I use AI is Google’s Gemini.  Basically, what so many of us do every day when we have a question about anything is ‘Google it.’  I’ve been using the AI mode more and more to get a summarized answer to any questions I have top of mind.  I use this daily, do you?  A fun experiment is to ask Gemini to give you today’s news in one sentence.  Let me know down below what it tells you.

eBay is also in the AI game. I have an eBay store and list items often. Now, when you add a description, there's a button to let AI write a description of the product for you.  I sell mainly used items, and they have defects at times.  The AI description does not note any of the defects.  I must put that in myself. But it gives the buyer a little more background on what they are buying.

The final way I use AI is once again with ChatGPT. I ask it to help me plan how to share my content across platforms like Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, and more. I ask what types of content work best for each platform and how to structure my posts. For example, I might use a written post with a link or a short 15-second video. The tone on Facebook is different from that on LinkedIn, so I check that too. I tried this method for my last podcast about video game news and making my first beat. It took some time, but I'm curious to see if it works.

How do you use AI regularly? Any particular tool? Siri, Gemini, Alexa?  Please comment below.
