Remembering Joel Thomas-JAMKAM SOUND

What more is there to say about Joel that hasn't been said in these beautiful posts on social media?

My dancehall mentors, Dancin' Squad and Skerrit Bwoy, introduced me to you almost 20 years ago; I think the first time was Nasty Tuesdays at the Elite Ark.

You, Mitty, and the dancers that followed you were Brooklyn Dancehall to me.

I loved how you played and would follow you for years.  That would span the boroughs-Bronx, Long Island, Manhattan, and Queens.   I think even Connecticut and New Jersey.   Didn't we all take a road trip to Baltimore or DC?   I forget.   You were a very pro-dancer DJ, especially for the ladies.

You would shout me out while dancing at parties where I had no business being alongside some of the most talented people I'd ever seen on the dancefloor.

I haven't been to a party you played for some time now, and many of us knew of your health issues.

No more suffering; I'll see you down the road at the All White party up in Heaven, where I hope you will be one of the many great DJs playing dope tunes while our family, friends, and acquaintances dance, the time away.

I appreciate your kindness, displaying your talent, and entertaining so many of us.   I am lucky to have experienced that.

Thank you.

Here's a video of Joel T. below..doing what he does best.

Bob Marley One Love Spoiler Review-$93 Million Later

I enjoyed Bob Marley's One Love, a 2024 biopic based on the legendary musician's life. The highlights for me were Kingsley Ben-Adir's and Lashana Lynch's performances as Bob and Rita Marley. Ben-Adir oozed charisma in playing Bob, and Ms. Lynch made me feel their deep relationship bond. The film is a musical in a way, as several of Bob's classic songs were performed.   One Love also weaves the stories and motivations for classic songs, such as 'Three Little Birds,' with Mr. Marley putting it together in the backyard of his home in Kingston.  Video version of my review.    I hummed 'Exodus' days after watching the movie.   This beautifully shot movie details several critical moments in the singer's life, such as an assassination attempt, his extended stay in the UK, and his first concert back in Jamaica, where he had warring political figures make peace on stage. The movie's budget was $70 million, and I assume it cost another $70 million to
