My 6 month experiences with Sex Workers, NEW MixTape and more!

On this episode I discuss my 6 month experiences with sex workers.   I also chat about my biggest takeaways from Simon Sinek's book 'Start with Why'.   3 new weird stories are covered.    A new mixtape sandwiched in between.   Finally a few quick reviews of TV shows/movies I've recently watched.

Simon Sinek's 'Start With Why' book.   My Biggest Takeaways.

I found Simon Sinek watching Evan Carmicheal's 'Believe' YouTube channel. I was fascinated by Mr. Sinek's book title, 'Start With Why.' The question 'why do we do what we do' fascinates me.

If you don't already know, self-help books are my jam. This was more of a business book and a slog to get through at times. Also, Mr. Sinek goes on and on about Apple, Steve Jobs, and their products.

Nonetheless, there were some great quotes I pulled from the book. Here are five that spoke to me.

-'The example starts to prove that people don't buy WHAT you do, they buy WHY you do it.' pg 41

-'This is one of the primary reasons why teachers tell students to go with their first instinct when taking a multiple-choice test, to trust their gut. The more time spent thinking about the answer, the bigger the risk that it may be the wrong one. Our limbic brains are smart and often know the right thing to do.'pg 58

-'Great companies don't hire skilled people and motivate them, they hire already motivated people and inspire them.' pg 94

-'Most people in the world are HOW-types. Most people are quite functional in the real world and can do their jobs very well. Some may be very successful and even make millions of dollars, they will never build billion-dollar businesses or change the world. HOW-types don't need WHY-types to do well. But WHY-guys, for all their vision and imagination, often get the short end of the stick. Without someone inspired by their vision and the knowledge to make it a reality, most WHY-types end up as starving visionaries, people with all the answers but never accomplishing much themselves.' pg 141

-'The reason so many small businesses fail, however, is because passion alone can't cut it. For passion to survive, it needs structure. A WHY without the HOW's, passion without structure, has a very high probability of failure.' pg 184

Fantastic Four: First Steps-Out of the Theater Quick Review

Jason and I give our quick review of  Fantastic Four: First Steps.  We both gave it a  rating of 7.9/10 . We praise the movie’s stunning production design, visuals (especially Galactus and The Thing), and soundtrack. Pedro Pascal stood out as Reed Richards, and the Silver Surfer was a highlight. While the film lacked some character depth and suspense, we still considered it the best Marvel movie of the year so far — surpassing  Brave New World  and  Thunderbolts. There were  two post-credit scenes: one worthwhile, one forgettable. Here's our out of the theater review A longer podcast spoiler review is coming soon.

Weapons Movie Review-Was it better than Barbarian?

YouTube Video Weapons   by Zach Cregger was a solid horror film, especially for fans of face mutilation and suspense. While the twist didn’t fully land for me, the movie picked up after a slow start and became quite engaging. I really enjoyed the eerie electronic score during tense moments and thought the cast was strong—The characters and actors playing Gladys and Alex were standout performances. The multi-perspective storytelling around 17 missing kids added depth, and I liked how it wrapped up. Not as strong as   Barbarian , but still a very good film—I'd give it a 7.5 out of 10.
